Tricuspid regurgitation is a disorder involving backflow of blood from the right ventricle to the right atrium during contraction of the right ventricle. The most common cause of tricuspid regurgitation is not damage to the valve itself but enlargement of the right ventricle, which may be a complication of any disorder that causes right ventricular failure.

Symptoms

  1. Shortness of Breath
  2. Active pulsing in neck veins
  3. Fatigue during strenuos activity
  4. Cough, at night
  5. Heart Palpitations

Doppler Echo

Treatment

Management of Tricuspid Regurgitation is treating underlying causes.
Medical Therapy is done using Diuertics and drugs that reduce afterload.
If Surgery is indicated following surgeries are performed
  1. Valvuloplasty
  2. Valve Replacement
